Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Highly affectionate and decidedly friendly, there are few things that please Orochi more than spreading Christmas Cheer. There was, however, one problem with his hobby; the land he hails from holds so many Christmas dragons that one more hardly makes a difference. So it was that, eager to find new lands in need of Christmas, Orochi traveled far to the east.

Things kinda went downhill from there.

Arriving in a land that never seen a Holly dragon (or many dragons at all), Orochi proceeded to accidentally terrify the locals into believing there was an eight-headed serpent afoot (thanks to his habit of creating snow tunnels), and that, even worse, it wanted human sacrifice! Finally fleeing once a comb-wearing warrior chased after him with a sword, Orochi is daunted but not defeated, and still plans to bring them Christmas cheer. He thinks they're starting to warm up to him anyway; they keep leaving big cups of nog outside his cave, after all! At least, he thinks it's nog... maybe not.
