Mint colored dragons are the most peaceful of all dragons; they only eat plants unless they scavenge meat from an already dead animal. They also have no ways to attack others or defend themselves. They are much smaller than other forms of dragons since they only double in size when they mature. Mint dragons are unable to use magic and cannot fly since they lack wings. Their looks have given rise to the common insult of calling dragons “large lizards.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Trompa Verde was born in the coastal Forest of the mainland. Most of his family was killed by a red dragon; he only survived because he had not hatched yet and his egg was not seen. When he hatched he was protected by a guardian dragon until he reached adulthood. He made his home in a clearing that could only be entered by a hole to small for a normal dragon to pass through. The clearing was a safe and hidden place and was full of berry bushes, so it made the perfect shelter for a Mint dragon. One day he found a female shallow water dragon washed up on the shore. He protected her and nursed her back to health, and eventually they mated and produced an egg. Because Trompa was raised by a guardian dragon he was naturally protective and guards their egg and his territory night and day.
