Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Of the Silvers at the Breedery, Lightspeed is the most invested in the local ideas of aristocracy. Firstly, that metallic dragons, especially Gold and Silver, have some kind of natural primacy or leadership birthright among sapient dragons in general. Secondly, he believes that wild-born dragons should play the same role within their own species, since children owe respect to their parents, but the wild-born have no known parents anywhere nearby, whereas the rest have pedigrees showing their place in society. Just as those pedigrees place the wild-born at the top, Lightspeed believes that they belong at the top of draconic society. Dour and serious, he is impatient with the more mystical mindset of several of the local Silvers. He himself is liked by the dominance-seekers he enables, while others loathe him as an arrogant, presumptuous old oligarch. There are those who would love it if he just ... disappeared. Sadly for them, he is too rich and powerful to be easily gotten rid of.
