Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

He was beautiful in nature and personality. His countenance was confident. His demeanor was neither boastful nor meek. His eyes glittered with a wise and curious sparkle. He could befriend anyone. He loved and was loved in return. After the birth of his first and only child, he was besides himself, bathed in his own happiness and jubilation.

Then one mild autumn night, his spark of happiness was snuffed out. His happiness, being his one child—his daughter -, disappeared. No matter where he looked and searched, there was no sign of her. To this day, Beauty has not learned of his daughter's whereabouts, but his heart had told him the whole truth. She was gone. She was forever gone. Upon arriving at this epiphany, Beauty became void and empty. The life in him was replaced by a never waning sorrow, and he now lives his days as a hermit, wandering aimlessly through the forests.
