Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Along with the slight disability of being frozen during the day, Chirop also happens to be blind. Well, mostly blind. But it's easier to explain that he's blind instead of that he has really poor eyesight that he might as well be blind. He has given up on trying to see at all, and instead has adapted something called "echolocation" to see. He uses clicks and chirps and his large, fine-tuned ears to pick up on the sounds of where things are. This is how he hunts, avoids running into others, and even sometimes picking up a mate. For some reason, they love a dragon who doesn't let something like blindness make him helpless.

Chirop often eats fruits and insects, and only eats meat during mating season. He's rather tall, the tallest of his species in the clan, but he hunches over a lot, making him seem smaller than what he really is.
