Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fantasy was raised by her father to appreciate the beauties of the world, leaving daydreams everywhere she went. When she was little, she tried to help her mother heal by doing what her father always did- putting the patient in a dream-like state to help them relax. Instead, the patient started to panic, and her father had to come in and help. Fantasy, instead of giving them a happy dream, had instead given them a nightmare. She became offended, not knowing until later it was a nightmare. When she finally left her parents to live on her own, she traveled the world like her father did. But unlike her father- she spread nightmares, horrible fearful daydreams and visions. One day on her travels she met The Great Wind of Healing, who she could never manage to bring nightmares to. This frustrated her, and even more that he had fallen in love with her. But she slowly began to warm up to him and they became mates.
