Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows brightly, and seems to prefer warm areas.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kindling is aptly named, for he tends to be the culprit behind the 'mysterious' fires that appear around the hatchlings cave. He is always caught red pawed as he is sleeping among the coals when the older dragons come to investigate.

He neither confirms nor denies his involvement in the fires' creation. The elders deemed it appropriate to have a spot laid out where the fires can burn safely. Since then no other mishaps have occurred.

When he isn't napping he enjoys romping about with the other hatchlings. He is one of the few brave enough to truly play with Bee without fear for he's blasted Bee with fire when he deems enough is enough.
