Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

BrightDreamMountainFunMagic is a very shy Nilia Pygmy Dragon hatchling. He is much shier than other Nilias because he is also scared of dragons of his own species. He usually hides behind a rock and peeks out to watch other Nilias in his flock. Very rarely does BrightDreamMountainFunMagic ever say a mental word. He just watches other hatchlings have fun, but never joins them.
