Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn’t move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shevn is a gargoyle on the south side of Crier Mansion, which doubles as a cap on Hell's Gate Crier.  With his fellow gargoyles, Shevn guards the Hell's Gate and the mansion itself at night.  His post on the south side means that his stone-self gets more sun throughout the day than other gargoyles, which translates at night to paler and more weathered skin.  He is one of the many gargoyles who enjoy freezing in a comical position, rather than the one he was originally carved in, but Shevn does not go overboard--While he often changes his pose, it is often in some small way that cannot be noticed from a distance.

Shevn has the distinction of being one of the more mature gargoyles in Crier, and he was the second of the southern gargoyles to reveal himself to Baroness Widow Crier when she inherited the Mansion.
