Mimic Pygmies seem quite harmless during the day with their impish grins. However, at dusk they show their true nature, drawing on Death mana to imitate the voices of the dead, using their mimicry to lure the unsuspecting into an ambush. Once drawn into the circle of their colony, Mimic dragons will attack in a swarm, disabling their victim then settling down to lap up the welling blood from their still-living prey.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.
User Description
Shibuwu, for whatever reason, was never good at mimicking human voices. No matter how much death mana she attempted to feed off of as a source, she could never get her imitations of people to sound realistic enough to lure wandering travelers near. However, by sneaking her way into caravans and houses to observe how humans lived, she gradually learned that humans shared a strong bond with their companion animals. Shibuwu practiced copying the various sounds made by horses and dogs in particular, and has had some success in luring unwary passersby with the sounds of injured animals. Sometimes this can backfire, so Shibu needs to be sure that no larger predators are nearby when she makes these imitated distress calls.
