Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There is a female dragon sitting in a nest covered with flowers and other beautiful elements. She is carefully cleaning her scales. Occasionally, she will look up and look around before looking back down again and going back to work. This female dragon is Lakia, the first female Lumina dragon and the first of her breed in her cave. She was found as an egg when her species was newly discovered. Lakia is very picky about many things. She likes her nest in a certain way, she keeps her territory as hers, etc. Most of all, she has no mate yet, but she is looking. Many of the other dragons around, especially the males, admire her for her scales and beauty, but she does not care for any of them. She will only take one of her breed. Lakia spends most of her time cleaning so that she will look nice. It isn't what she cares most about, but it's pretty important.
