Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Phaleg acts as the leader of all warlike affairs, commanding every other dragon of the clan if they are challenged by an enemy force. Thus far, her services haven't needed to be employed, but she sees no reason to let that weaken her iron claw over the whole of kin. Every dragon has a role in her vision of the looming battle, from Mint to Guardian. Even the hatchlings are taught the most basic physical and magical attacks, as well as defensive strategies.

Phaleg views the best targets for practice to be prey, gifting both healthy and wounded food sources to use in gruesome drilling. If it was her choice, she would even go so far as to launch the first attacks on rival clans, before a weakness is revealed to them through sloth. But thankfully, every dragon has a voice in that decision. Not just Phaleg's blood-saturated roar.
