Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Akarashi was born to a dragon pack, but was picked up by a human who wished to sell her somewhere as a hatchling. However, despite the human being quickly chased off, she had the human's scent on her, so she was no longer part of the family. After a few days of being alone and nearly starving to death, a human named Snow Spectrum found her and raised her.

Now older, she wishes to make her own pack, and is open and accepting to all kinds, especially so to others who had been abandoned. Even though she frequently makes a point to say that she is independent now and no longer needs Snow's help, she still is found hanging around the woman's house often, almost puppy like when in the human's company. Other humans, however, are treated aggressively, and it doesn't take much for one to anger.
