Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It skitters around in the shadows, seemingly repelled by light.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling tries hard to be menacing. He really does. It's in his nature—he's a creature of fear, with branching antlers and dark plumed wings and a miasma of ennui and despair to choke the life out of those that come too close.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any of that yet—and the first time he tried to terrify a group of dragons, he was mistaken for a large dog that had somehow wandered in, giving him his much-resented nickname.

He'll get them back for it. Some day, he'll have his revenge.

(It's probably for the best that he doesn't know he's frozen in his current state.)
