Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has brightly colored fins on its back.

And look! It has grown larger fins! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Waddlewalk is one of Phoenix's dragons. He was named for the way he likes to prance around with his dorsal fins waggling. This gives the impression of a drunken sailor or some other such-like thing to the (usually amused) onlooker. Waddlewalk doesn't really care though, and all the other little hatchlings he likes to play with find it quite funny. Even the adult dragons will sometimes sit around lazily and watch him waddle around. Waddlewalk loves the attention, and will probably continue this odd habit for the rest of his life.
