Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.
Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.
User Description
Rusokudo spends a lot of time preening, making sure that his scales are glossy and bright. To polish his scales, he makes small brushes out of animal fur tied to tree bark, and sometimes makes special ones with moss for hatchlings. Though he is usually willing to lend these brushes to others, if someone forgets to return a brush to him promptly, Ruso will nag them mercilessly until they do.
