Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pakalaki, like all of the tribe's silver dragons, lives on the island of Molehu. He received his name like all silvers; his actions, looks, and personality were inspected by the elders and then summed up in a word in Hawaiian. His name means "unlucky".

Pakalaki had bad luck from the start. His egg somehow got into the claws of a rowdy bunch of seagulls that wouldn't stop screaming "MINE"! from the minute he became aware of his surroundings. His first awkward flight left him somehow tied up in a tree and his first fishing trip left him with a giant suction mark on his forehead from a frisky octopus. Pakalaki won't even speak of his puberty years, they were so bad. He has taken to carrying around a giant horseshoe to even out his luck. It doesn't seem to be working, since all the horseshoe has managed to do is give everyone bumps on the head from Pakalaki flying overhead.
