Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very light and enjoys bouncing all around.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Bo's Little Red Rover is so named because of his tiny size in accordance to other hatchlings. Because of this, the other hatchlings often laughed at him, sometimes even harming him. While taking a nap, the other hatchlings would grab him and bash him into the ground, making him bounce all around. All this bashing and bouncing hurt him so much that Bo's Little Red Rover would sometimes float up to the tops of trees and weep. But unknowingly, this bouncing around was not just being physically harmful, it was harming the little hatchling's brain too. One day, a particularly large Sunset hatchling bounced him so hard off the ground, his brain could not take it anymore, no longer allowing Bo's Little Red Rover to grow. Ever since that day, Bo's Little Red Rover had been staying away from hatchlings, becoming frightening, even sometimes attacking, if any dragon came too close. Then, another Balloon adult came up to him. He helped the poor hatchling to be kinder. They are now best friends!
