Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kiralith is one of her owner's oldest dragons. She's a bit of a sarcastic creature, a difficult feat for a being that cannot speak aloud. She accomplishes this through eye-rolling and various expressions borrowed from humans. She's even managed to pick up the meaning of a smirk, and it has become one of her favorite expressions. She has a wicked sense of humor. Her owner loves her dearly, saying that "She's the only one who sees the world like I do." 'Lith has a grudging sort of affection for her owner, and has even allowed her to ride on her back a few times. Otherwise, she and the puny human can spend hours simply sitting out in the sun, with the girl telling stories of human life, and the dragon silently laughing at the irony of it all. What else can you do, after all.
