Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Like the egg it hatched from, it is a very shiny gold.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Imryl loves jewelry.  Her hatchling wings are strong enough to carry her for several kilometers before resting, so she has made some daring expeditions in search of it.  She does not know the ways of trade merchants; she simply flies down to a likely looking caravan.  Typically this results in several guards attacking her, and she flies away to safety.  However, once in a while she spots someone decked out in a lot of jewelry, and snatches them up.  Flying a short distance away, she relieves them of their jewelry and then lets them go.

     News of the golden bandit spread across the countryside, encouraging intrepid adventurers to seek her out in hopes of getting rich from her scales and hoard.  Imryl does not really mind; she just dispatches them quickly and then loots their bodies for any jewelry they may have before eating them.
