Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rubeni is the only male in the entire Pinkness Army. That fact, however, is a secret closely guarded amongst his two sisters and himself. The three are triplets and together as often as possible. Afraid of what the other females in the army might have done when he turned out to be male, they hid the fact and continue to do so. He has succeeded in the army and come to attain the rank of Warrant Officer in the naval unit. Only one other adult knows of his gender, Secret Agent Waylera, and she keeps the fact to herself for her own reasons though it worries the triplets that anyone knows, let alone an extremely loyal and extremely dangerous member of the Originals, as they are called amidst the military of pink dragons.
