Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bloodbath has always been demented and morbid, even before she discovered that she was a vampire, destined to spread her venom and siphon the blood from thousands of eggs.

She was delighted when she grew to her full size, and learned of her true purpose. She became far less loyal to her adopted family of dragons, relatives and owner, in favor of roaming the lands to spread terror and nightmares. Death follows her in the form a dark, black cloud each night, when she murders the helpless unborn dragons.

Wherever she goes, the tales follow her as well. She hates them, even though every word is true, because they give her away. Lately, she has found it more and more difficult to find unguarded caves, but her bloodlust only grows with each failed mission.

When she is desperate enough, she has been know to kill her own future nieces and nephews to satisfy her unquenchable thirst.
