Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It likes to perch on the high branches of the taller trees and look longingly up at the sky.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

DarkGlider is a gloomy little Canopy Dragon hatchling. She spends a lot of time sulking behind shady rocks or looking forlorn in the rain. She's the typical 'Bad Boy' type that so many hatchlings moon over. She doesn't play by anyone's rules but her own. DarkGlider tries to look morose, and talks about death and dying to make herself seem dark and mysterious. She wishes she'd been a Vampire, truly dead and the most goth of all dragons. Being a Canopy Dragon is ordinary, being a Vampire would be so cool. Instead DarkGlider pines for undeath, coveting a Vampire's deadly power.
