Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Satonaka loves playing Mah-jong and will spend several hours a day carefully matching up the brightly coloured tiles. Her favourite piece is of course the Red Dragon. Though she enjoys the game, she is not very good at it, sometimes taking two or three days to clear a board.  

She is always asking Myrn or Shyloh to reset the tiles for her when she becomes stuck, but now and again she becomes highly frustrated and sends the pieces flying across the cave floor. Once, and only once, Sakua teased Satonaka when she was having trouble with a particularly difficult layout, resulting in Sakua consulting Izer about removing some tiles from a rather sensitive area.

Satonaka also visits her parents daily at their layer deep within the cave. She is a little embarrassed about her Father's cowardly behaviour, but she loves him nonetheless. Satonaka also admires her Mother's strength and strives constantly for her approval.
