Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Yenthaerin Sunfail PBIV has a rather peculiar name. Being a typical, snobbish lumina dragon, she hated the 'fail' in her name and almost clawed her clan leaders into shreds when they refused to change it. Now, she spends her days bickering with and occasionally getting into fights with the other dragons (and especially the other female luminas) of her clan. Nobody really likes her very much, and for good reason: she, like Silvery Stream of Nerju (another narcissistic lumina), puts down everyone else she deems 'better' than her. In reality, most of the dragons don't really care of her sarcastic and rude opinions on the way they look and act, and rather, they often resist the urge to plug their ears with wood and kick Yenthaerin Sunfail PBIV in the face for being incessantly rude and annoying.
