Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This vine dragon is the dragon who welcomes all visitors to who come to see the vine dragons in Drey's cave. She is the daughter of two of the Alts in Drey's cave. When it was discovered that she was normal, some of the mean and ruthless dragons of Drey's cave, forced Drey to freeze her. Drey felt sorry and had to do it, leaving the hatchling depressed for the rest of he life.
