Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When marriage brings together two kingdoms it is always a splendid affair bringing nobility and relations to visit. It was such an occasion that brought Verro Gondrell, a member of the house of Ebedi Kan Akis to Graystone Castle. After the grand event, he found a tranquil spot to center himself in quiet meditation. His solitude was interrupted at dusk though when the young dragon Lorcan Gray began hopping and snapping to feed on fireflies. Verro rose and turned to find another place. That is when he noticed a glow like the setting of the sun. There he found a cave previously hidden from daylights view and inside the cave a dragon egg. He felt an immediate bond to it. He kept it close for many days, speaking softly to it. Upon hatching, he held the dragon so as to look into its eyes. He smiled to see it was a magi dragon and gave him the name Je'Lan Gondrell.
