Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A gentle soul, Ryev is a young but very talented dragon. Even as a hatchling, he displayed signs of prodigious magical strength, often disappearing in games of hide-and-seek, and managing to lift rocks twice his size. As an adult with fully realized powers, Ryev's lunar magic waxes and wanes with the phases of the moon. Near the new moon or during eclipses, this dragon is sluggish and languid; during the nights of the gibbous and full moon, his vitality is bright enough for his scales to literally glow. He generally channels this magic into the ground, spurring the vegetation in the clan's lands to grow lush and massive. Unlike many dragons, he bears no ill will towards humans, and some of the small villages that dot the vale's fringes worship him as a deity; his majestic form in the night sky often precedes a bountiful harvest.
