Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Full-Moon's Kiss or 'Kiss' was bitten by Natasha's Cave's most violent Vampire Dragon: Linkar, one of the original five. She is lucky she survived the transformation, for more than one dragon has died because of Linkar's strong jaw and cruel behavior.

Kiss, however, rivals Linkar in cruelty and is considered the most dangerous of the female Vampires. She hunts all she can and enjoys 'playing with' her food before killing it, just to see how terrified she can make it. She bites eggs carelessly, and doesn't help raise the offspring (one of which was an ill-Heart). And boy, when she and Linkar get into a fight, things are NOT pretty. More than once Linkar has retorted to shouting, "I'll go back in time and kill your egg!" As could be guessed, Kiss isn't very intimidated by this...
