Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Saidrac shares the guile and intelligence of his mother, The Night, as well as her devious plotting. His intentions are a little less ambiguous; he has great ambitions, seeking to become the most powerful dragon on the island. His ultimate goal is to challenge the Alpha of the island's dragons, Mobius herself, to a duel and win, in order to prove himself. He has no qualms about doing just about anything to reach this goal. But, knowing his limitations, he prefers to work in the shadows rather than risk his reputation or life openly. He is a master of manipulation, but in spite of this is a very bad liar. Instead, he always tells the truth, and is quite skilled at making others think he is lying when in fact he is telling the truth.
