Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Despite his parents being existing members of the flock, Aquifoliaceae 2 is "infected" with the same madness that came over all Flamingos laid after the great storm. He reluctantly answers to Franio, the name that the record keepers gave him to differentiate him from the rest of the Aquifoliaceae horde.

Aquifoliaceae 2 often wanders away from the flock for days at a time. On return he will add another human weapon to his hoard, before ambling over to the Whites for healing. Spears, swords, shields, daggers—he keeps them all in his cave.

His favourite weapon is the boar spear that hangs in pride of place over the entrance.
