Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Goldwyn Malice was hatched it was a very dark time for Black dragons. Humans were overbreeding them in an attempt to raise the all-black strain of the breed and many, many unwanted black eggs were left to die. Goldwyn's owner was sorry to see so many unwanted eggs and chose one from the pile at random, which happened to be his. Because of this he has always felt grateful to be alive and he is fiercely devoted to his cave. He is one of the finest warriors among them and will fight to the end to protect his owner and his brethren in their cave. Trespassers beware, for he is always stealthily on the lookout for any potential dangers.
