Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Laughter of Thaleron is not your average dragon. Her metallic body gives her a booming laughter that seems to paralyze her prey. While this may seem to be a gruesome way to hunt, Laughter is generally a happy dragon who likes to take naps with her mate, Hypersomniac. She is very touchy about her children. Her first child, Laughing Cow, was not metallic and was turned into a neglected dragon. Spiteful, she has been very cautious about breeding ever since, and demands to know exactly where her children are going.
