Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like his best friend Shayne, Cariden isn't a true member of Elders. But unlike Shayne, Cariden does have history with the Elders clan. He's the grandson of three extremely prestigious dragons within Elders.

When he was born, his parents, afraid their son might be kidnapped the way their other son was, sent him away by magical means to another clan worlds away from the war. He was raised alongside Shayne and the other dragons of Taiyou clan, believing he belonged with them.

Even as a hatchling, Cariden was a somewhat eccentric youth. He loved to experiment with magic, often ending in explosions and angry adults. Yet Cariden was also carefree and believed a few explosions were good for a dragon's health.

One day, his experiments went too far...or perhaps just far enough. He teleported both him and Shayne to the land of his birth. But they wouldn't have been welcomed had his parents not recognized him. They haven't told Cariden yet, but both he and Shayne are less than willing to leave.
