Mistlet Pygmies thrive in humid environments and are most content when frolicking in the rain or fog. The cheerful demeanor they exhibit provides a remarkable contrast to their shadowy appearance, bringing joy in otherwise gloomy environments. Mistlets are an especially beautiful sight in long summer evenings, as their streak of vibrant scales catch the fading sunlight. They spend a great deal of their time foraging for edible roots and insects, and sometimes enjoy treats in the form of small fish or frogs.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

Quite a bit braver than his more timid brother. Astraea is not afraid of larger dragons, or really anything. He's very prideful and confident, though never to the point of arrogance or bigotry. He has a lot of faith in himself, almost believing he is immune to danger or repercussions, which has its own ups and downs. Astraea is the kind of dragon who acts well before he thinks, if he bothers doing that in the first place. He faces all of his problems head-on, without any recoil or withdrawal. He tries to convince Inkwell to do the same, but the older Mistlet Pygmy is too shy to attempt it, stating it just isn't for him. Luckily, Inkwell's wife, Passion, happens to help him way better than Astraea could, and he's thankful to her for that. If there's one thing Astraea loves more than this family, it's the night sky. Every clear night, he will soar up into the trees to get to best view possible of the stars. His dream is to one day travel the universe, in spite of his tiny size.
