Shadow Walkers are a strange breed that possess the ability to slip between the planes of reality, becoming immaterial. This allows them to hide in the shadows, either hunting from the concealment of near invisibility or evading enemies. Though they become corporeal to mate or to eat, they spend most of the rest of their lives walking in the shadows. Shadow Walkers are wary creatures, though on dark autumn evenings when the leaves fall to swirl in the chill, rain damp air, they may be seen drifting out from the shadows.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Reclusive by nature, few dragons know of Platacchi. Those who encounter her are often transfixed by her eyes. If there is any trace of light, ambient or otherwise, they gleam brightly. With her ghostly body, it's like a pair of silver eyes floating in midair...a sight met with a mix of awe and fear.

Unlike the rest of her body, her eyes are solid. She can't entirely phase through objects as a result.

It wasn't always that way. When she was young, she was an incorrigible prankster. She loved scaring the other Nebbia out of their wits, jumping from the shadows crying, "BOO!"

One day she scared the wrong dragon: Esoterico, a young magi with faltering control over his magic. He retaliated blindly, terrified. She was knocked unconscious by a blast of magic. She was mostly unscathed but her eyes had been alchemized into solid silver. Platacchi is blind because of this. This incident sobered her significantly. She believes her eyes are her punishment and bears no ill will toward Esoterico.
