Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Forever in Ice is as the name suggests; he was forever trapped in ice. One day Elenwen was wandering through the icy fields far to the north and she came across a hatchling trapped in a block of ice. Elenwen and her dragons worked day and night to free it, especially Ice Wizard, he felt sorry for the little hatchling. After long toils the little dragon was free but it would not grow, the time in ice seemed to have stopped its growth. The Ice Wizard took care of Forever in Ice and they became almost like brothers. Forever in Ice is might look like a hatchling but he is wise beyond he seemingly few years.
