Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s covered in very hot magma.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling's home, the active volcano Mount Firestorm, is a very pleasant place despite its name. At least it is pleasant for all breeds who like extreme heat, which is of course a given in case of this Magma hatchling.

This hatchling loves playing with other Magma and Ember hatchlings, or entertaining the adults with its attempts at breathing fire. Although there are some things that go bump in the night, it still feels mostly safe and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
