Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Regina Umbrae is the mortal enemy of the Knights of Creation, a group of Lumina dragons who protect the cave from the forces of evil. Malicious and deceitful, Regina took control of a large population of Black Dragons and enslaved them to hunt other dragons for her to eat. Regina feasts on the dragons that her slaves bring to her, causing her to be seen as an abomination to the other dragons in the cave. The Knights of Creation first defeated her slaves and are now in the process of capturing the elusive Shadow Queen to prevent her from harming any more dragons. It is said that her fire is black as smoke.
