Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Jecuhoa Laecoa is very happy with life. Not only does she get to be with her mum Solarei Violet all her life, but like myths and stories, she never grows up. She knows she will grow her wings and is looking forward to next year when she can show hatchlings waiting to grow how amazingly she can fly at only hatchling size!<br/>Jecu, as she is known in the cave, has a liking for apples. She can cleverly sniff them out of the grass where they fall, and check them all over for signs of 'unwanted wildlife', before chomping them down.
