Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tkenya has always been a procrastinator, even when she was in her egg. She took her sweet time hatching and grew her wings mere hours before she grew up, despite constant and attentive care. Her mentors and tutors were always frustrated with her, it was clear that the stone was brilliant but severely unmotivated. Tkenya keeps trying to tell everyone that it is just who she is, but no one listens. After getting constantly interrupted in her attempt to explain herself, Tkenya walked away and vented her troubles to the only one that would listen- her pet rock.

"Oh Gneissy!" She wailed slowly, "They don't understand! I am a stone dragon, I move slowly because I must! They have not tried to move a two-ton body before!"

Gneissy understands though, as it is also stone and has trouble moving from place to place.
