Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When the dragon keeper Lorraine first took in a vampire, she quietly sent a message off to Lady ArynChris, her friend and financial patron.  Though it was some time (and more than one vampiric generation) before the lady arrived, it was worth it; the lady had much to say in the matter of raising vampires, and a newly sired young female was raised on very different foods from her predecessors.

At first, all seemed well.  The young vampiress adjusted to life in the caves like any normal dragon, finding friends among the albinos with their shared sensitivity to the light, and she seemed to have no interests or urges out of the ordinary.  Still, the lady seemed disturbed.  At last, she admitted that this vampiress was unique, and that it had nothing to do with the proscribed diet-- the restless spirit of a much more human vampiress, whom the lady had once known, had come to reside in the dragon.  Because no other name seemed fitting, she and Lorraine gave her her old name:  Cassandra-Kide.
