Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Pyros are easily the heaviest of all Xenowyrm subspecies and they use their weight to their advantage. If scorching their foes with flames doesn’t finish them off, Pyros will use the weight of their bodies for sheer crushing power. They create their lairs solely in volcanic regions, where lava and billowing flames are the land’s most prominent features.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Matnanis Blackfall is one of the guardians of the volcano tower in his clan. The tower is a sanctuary for all his clan members that live in the volcanic clan territory. It is a central point where they come together during either breeding season, for help or to relax. Matnanis is there to protect the clan members when they rest in the tower. Matnanis does not give up when the going gets tough. He strives to achieve his goals, but really nothing is quite as satisfying to Matnanis as rising to the challenge of each obstacle in his run to the finish line. Marnanis has a fierce aggressive streak, so he often aids his clan in raids and other battles. Matnanis can be overprotective of his clan-members, becoming overbearing or too worried. Matnanis' abilities can be affected by his anger and rage, as the angrier he gets, the more powerful his fire becomes. He can also generate smoke through his mouth as a cover in battle. Matnanis is known for his orange colored piercing eyes.
