Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Korvekai likes to work with metal, twisting and melting it into whatever shape he so desires. He craftsmanship is so amazing, it's hard to tell his work from that of 46 blacksmiths all working together to make one sword. His work was challenged when a frozen cheese hatchling, named Jerazzi, came up to him one day and asked him to build iron claws so he could carve wooden sculptures with ease. This presented the dragon many problems, the claws would have to be only big enough to fit on a glove to slide over Jerazzi's small paws, sharp enough to cut wood, AND have Korvekai's signature on it. The task was almost as hard as carving a whole report on a needle, but once again, Korvekai pulled through, and now even humans ask him to craft such fine metal works for them.
