Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It always seems to be hungry.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Since she is only a hatchling, Moon is much more active than the rest of her species.  Preferring not to hibernate, she will still eat as much as the average adult Harvest, which can be rather hard to make happen.  It's hard to watch a hatchling eat as much as a full grown dragon!  Moon is playful, like almost all other hatchlings, but is kind of sad that she cannot fly, even with her wings.  Moon has discovered the joy of swimming, however, and this helps.
