It’s an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it weren’t partially decayed.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Peterson Buttsmith's tale is one of tragedy and woe. His egg was abandoned and left for dead by the previous owner who decided he didn't want it anymore, or that he didn't have enough room. Whatever the case, he was left there, with no one to help him. Until one day, a small chicken by the name of Deep fried KFC found it and took it under her wing. With her love and warmth the egg was able to hatch without any complications... or so it seemed. Not long after growing his wings, Peterson grew deathly sick. Despite her best efforts, Peterson succumbed to his sickness and died a painful death. But this wasn't his end, as with the help of some dark magic he was resurrected and joined the ranks of the undead. He spends the rest of his days as an outcast of his master's cave, his only friend being the only person who was willing to raise him. At night, Peterson cuddles with his pseudo-mother Deep fried KFC, remembering what it was like to feel warmth.
