Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gentle and friendly, this male quite enjoys flying through the jungle on a sunny day, savoring the feel of light on his wings and writhing around the obstacles before him with impeccable grace. But as much as he likes the daylight, it was oddly enough the night that gave him his first real thrill.

It was one evening, curled up in his nest, that he saw her--the most beautiful dragon he had ever seen, a shining silver creature snaking through the sky far overhead. Finding himself with a strange desire to approach her, he attempted to follow, but soon lost her in the darkening shadows. Determined to meet with her someday, he does his best each and every evening, but inevitably gives in to the night and falls asleep, unable to see anything through the black. What he doesn't know, however, is that the same Silver he's been admiring has also been looking over him--and has quite a few plans in store for his future!
