Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large, shield-like object at the end of its tail that it uses for protection.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling forever lives with guilt. She was meant to be the guardian of her 'family' of mixed dragons when she grew up, but she couldn't. She never made it to adulthood, and since none of her family members wanted her to die, she became a frozen hatchling. Ashamed that she couldn't protect all of her 'family', she tries to at least protect the hatchlings until they reach adulthood to make up for what happened. Though it wasn't her fault she didn't grow, she can't help but feel guilty and hope that someday another of her kind enters the family and grows up to protect it.

Fortunately for this hatchling, she isn't alone. A few others didn't make it either and became her friends. Along with the other 'Frozen Ones', as they call themselves, she vowed to protect the eggs and non frozen hatchlings until they grew.
