Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Springspiral hatched on Howling Wolf Mountain under the watchful eyes of a guardian hatchling named Mountainflames. She was the first to hatch under his care, a great accomplishment for the abandoned Mountainflames. Her egg was found alongside many other eggs that had been abandoned in a cave in the forest.

Springspiral loves to fly, and she's very good at it, too. Mountainflames would say she was like a dancing river of green and pink in the air. She decided then, to name herself after her pride and joy; flight.

She came to love the gentle guardian Mountainflames as well. As a Clan was established, there came other males who wished to have Springspiral as a mate, but she rejected them. Mountainflames rejoiced when Springspiral confessed her feeling to him. He had loved her ever since she had hatched, and they were the happiest couple in the Clan.

They continue to watch over the Clan's young and eggs and revel in the great Clan of Howling Mountain that they founded.
