Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very small and makes soft cooing sounds.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

T'etair is incredibly cute, and she knows it. She's tiny enough to fit in the hands of most humans, and uses it to her advantage to both beg for and steal table scraps. She greatly appreciates being given anything sweet, but has a special love for chocolate, and has demonstrated almost terrifying intelligence in her attempts to acquire it. Some doubt that a pygmy, especially a hatchling, could have the brainpower to do anything of the sort... but it's hard to deny, once you've seen her in action.
